Words to show that the text is comparing and contrasting more than one thing may include: like, unlike, but, even though, while, however, although.
Questions may require you to compare one part of a text with another part of the same text.
You will be expected to give the similarities or the differences in your answer.
Words such as like, unlike, but, even though, while, however, although, whereas, in common indicate that the text is written to compare and contrast.
Comparative adjectives may be used to make comparisons such as: taller than, greater than, better / worse, more / less.
When possible, refer to both parts of the text you are comparing, to make your answer clearer.
