Task 6C

Long writing task: Composition

Story

Imagine you are a journalist with a local newspaper. You have been sent to find

out about the time machine built by Miss Smith’s class.

Your task is to write a newspaper article about the time machine.

Think about:

• the answers to the questions

What? Where? When? Who? Why?

and

How?

• who you talk to, what questions you ask them, and what they say

• the headline you will give your article

• how you will finish the article.

Write your plan on the separate planning sheet provided by the teacher. Use

whatever sort of planning model you know works best for you. Remember to

write your plan in note form.

Spend five or ten minutes planning the newspaper article. Your teacher

will tell you when five minutes and then ten minutes have passed.
