J.K. Rowling was born on July 31, 1965. She is an international bestselling author, known for the Harry Potter series of books. Her first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was published in 1997. Following the success of this book, Rowling wrote her second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, published in 1998. Book three in the series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, followed in 1999 and, in 2000, book four, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, became the fastest-selling book in history. The success of the books continued and they were translated into many different languages. Rowling continued with the saga of Harry's life, and in 2003, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix arrived, followed two years later by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and finally Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2007.
