An attempt at dressing up the most schoolchildren as a favourite superhero of their choice was attempted yesterday in Cambridgeshire. In the south of the city, eight primary schools within close proximity of each other, with nearly 3,500 pupils in total, attempted the fantastically fearless feat. The aim: to raise money to support a local centre for children with learning difficulties. The centre, used by all schools, was in danger of being shut down and needed extra funds to keep it open for another year.

The fundraiser saw children dressed in spectacular costumes including Power Rangers, the Incredibles, Spider Man and Wonder Woman. The schools arranged a fun day of superhero learning activities based on the children's favourite characters.

The day was a huge success, enjoyed by children and adults alike, and luckily the funds raised by being sponsored to wear their favourite superhero costume, alongside the support of other donations, is enough to keep the centre open for another year.

  • Explain the why the theme of the event was 'From Suits to Superheroes'.
