  • Look to see how many lines are provided for the answer. More lines mean you could achieve additional marks by providing more detail in your answer.

  • Identify the language feature being used and name it in your answer, if this is relevant.

  • If the feature is a comparative one, say which things are being compared.

  • Explain how the language feature builds a better image for the reader by giving an example from the text of a sound, a size, a movement, etc.
