Priortobeginningthetest,ensuretwoconesare

markedaccurately10metresapart.Thebean

bagsareplacednexttotheconethatisopposite

tothestartingcone.Onthesignal,“go!”the

participantsprintstotheoppositeline,picks

uponebeanbag,runsbackandplacesitonor

beyondthestartingline.Thenturningwithout

arest,theyrunbacktoretrievethesecond

beanbagandcarryitbackacrossthefinishline.

Twotrialsaretested,withthebestspeedbeing

recorded.Thepartnertimestherunner.

Instructions:

Startinthepushuppositiononaflatsurface-with

thehandsandtoestouchingthefloor,thebodyand

legsareinastraightline,feetslightlyapart,thearms

atshoulderwidthapart,extendedandatrightangles

tothebody.Keepingthebackandkneesstraight,the

subjectlowersthebodyuntilthereisa90-degree

angleattheelbows,withtheupperarmsparallelto

thefloor.Apartnerholdstheirhandatthepointofthe

90-degreeanglesothatthesubjectbeingtestedgoes

downonlyuntiltheirshouldertouchesthepartner’s

hand,thenbackup.Thisisdonetoametronomeof

threesecondsforeachpushup.Onlythecorrectpush

upsthatareinrhythmtobeatisrecorded.
